Library+ on the VLE

  • Breaks in-between lessons


    That you sometimes have long period’s in-between your different lessons.

    We are reviewing our timetable arrangements to remove as many long periods between lessons as possible.
  • Computers in classrooms


    You find there are not enough computers in some classrooms.

    The college spends £250,000 a year on computers and we are looking to improve access through On-line access to the VLE and in addition developing wireless internet and email access around student social spaces.
  • Seating


    You would like more seating, especially during lunch and break times.

    Recently the College has invested significantly in a Youth Work Centre and has provided extra seating in Alexandra Foyer and outside Cafe Direct. We are currently working on a new plan to provide additional student social space.
  • Food


    You want more options available for students and reduced food prices.

    The college catering contract is up for renewal. Your points were taken onboard by all SMT and they will award a contract with your views in mind. We will also be approaching a couple of students as representatives in helping to choose the catering contract
  • Internet Access


    You would like more access to the internet during break , lunch and free lesson periods.

    A new WiFi system will be installed over the summer in certain areas of the college.
  • Media Software


    You would like more up-to-date software that the sector uses.

    The college is looking into providing more specialist software for the media centre. Curriculum staff will be looking into the amount of credits that you are allowed.
  • Lockers


    There are too many lockers that are broken or not used.

    The college strategy will ensure that the lockers are replaced and used in the next year.
